I want to know more about the final project
Answer
These are robust, challenging projects — and you should know that not all students pass on their first try. We want to make sure that every student leaves the course with the ability to apply the skills learned during the course and has a chance to demonstrate those skills in a portfolio-worthy project.
Each course has a different final project:
UX Writing Fundamentals
The final project is a critique and edit of an entire mobile app, edited entirely in Figma. Many students use this project as part of their overall portfolio. This is a complex project and many students spend up to 15 or 20 hours on this project.
UX Writing for Technical Writers
This final project focuses on the information architecture and UI text for an enterprise application dashboard, edited entirely in Figma. This is a complex project and students can expect to spend up to 15 or 20 hours to complete.
Content Research & Testing
This final project is designed to test a student’s proficiency in analyzing user testing data, synthesizing that data, and then making design recommendations based on insights. Students are provided with raw data and then use Google Slides to create a presentation with their findings. This is an advanced course for content designers, UX writers, content strategists, or beginning user researchers, and requires up to 15 or 20 hours of work to complete.
Chatbot Writing & Design
The final project is a working chatbot prototype, completed in a browser-based chatbot prototyping tool called Voiceflow. This project is designed to provide you with a portfolio-worthy example of your ability to design, strategize, and write for a business-based chatbot. We find students spend up to 10 or 15 hours working on this final project.
Marketing Writing for UX Writers
This final project is designed to test your ability to write for a variety of marketing channels. Students are asked to implement assets for a hypothetical product launch including a landing page, social media posts, a video script, and more. Many students find this is a complex task that can take several hours to complete.
The Microcopy Course
The brief final project for The Microcopy Course consists of writing for a series of UI components on an e-commerce site. This project is designed to test whether students have the ability to write for the various components covered in the course. Students should expect this final to take about 30-60 minutes to complete.
